Headteacher
With nearly 20 years of working closely with children, Gurjinder brings compassion, dedication, and a deeply personal commitment to helping every child feel safe, understood, and valued. She began her journey as a Teaching Assistant, where she quickly discovered not only her love for the classroom, but also her natural ability to connect with children who needed that extra bit of care, patience, and reassurance. Motivated by this, she completed her PGCE and went on to teach across Early Years and Primary settings.
Throughout her career, Gurjinder has worked with children with a wide range of needs, including autism, learning difficulties, SEMH needs, and those who have experienced trauma. These experiences have shaped her belief that children thrive best when they feel seen, heard, and supported as individuals. Her approach has always been rooted in empathy, curiosity, and finding what works best for each child—not simply what the curriculum says should happen.
More recently, Gurjinder led a specialist provision for children with complex needs. This role became one of the most meaningful chapters of her career. She created and introduced a completely new, bespoke curriculum tailored to each child’s emotional, developmental, and learning journey. Seeing children grow in confidence, reconnect with learning, and feel proud of themselves reaffirmed her passion for this work

Looking to the Future
‘I have a deep passion for working with children and have truly cherished the past 24 years I’ve spent supporting their growth and development. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with children in
a variety of settings and of all ages, but my most rewarding experiences have been with those who have special needs and have experienced trauma. Through these experiences, I have discovered that this is the area in which I feel most inspired and committed to building my career.
I am especially motivated by the idea of creating a school that not only meets each child’s unique academic needs, but also prioritises their mental health and overall well-being, helping them to flourish both emotionally and intellectually.’
